Indoor Rust Farming: Lighting & Power
Indoors you control light and weather, so crops grow around the clock. A Ceiling Light (2 rW, 3 metre range) mimics sunlight so plants keep growing at night and underground.
Why farm indoors
Outdoor plants stop growing at night and are exposed to weather and raiders. An enclosed grow room lets you run lights 24/7 and hide your farm. The tradeoff is that you must supply light, water, and power yourself.
Power draw
Every component has a fixed power cost, so you can size a generator or solar array exactly:

Powering it
Put one ceiling light over each planter, add sprinklers and a pump for water, and total the rW. Solar panels give up to 10 rW each but only in daylight, so add batteries or roughly double the panels to run through the night. The farm calculator sizes all of this from your target output.
